Wonderful Evening Out....

This evening we accompanied dear friends Bob and Linda Zaborsky to Bake'n Brews to hear a local singing group, The Sticks and Stones. Linda's brother, Bill Price and fellow musician, Skip Anderson, did a wonderful job with the music of James Taylor, Paul Simon, Roger Miller, Jimmy Buffet, John Denver and many others. They have played and sung together for 41 years.

.....we listened and talked and laughed and reminisced and just thoroughly enjoyed the evening....

Since Bill attends our church it will be my priviledge to sing to him in the morning!

....speaking of musical friends....

At the supper table tonight I described another friend of mine who among other hit songs, wrote Alabama's # 1 hit, "If You're Going To Play In Texas, You Got To Have A Fiddle In The Band" Dan Mitchell and I did some time together at my favorite and fun job of all time in the Edutainment Department of the Longaberger Company. Since it was such a female dominated company we were forced to see things through a different paradigm. Here we were demonstrating that we too could participate in "dressing up" for tea in the new Longaberger Tea House.....

.....or checking out the latest decor for the Christmas displays at Corporate Headquarters......

....needless to say it was a wild and wonderful gig!

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES....

It's time I take a life check.

Time to review....who I am..... where I've been..... where I am..... and...... where I'm going on this adventure.

To see what if any course corrections need to be made.

Some elements of that mission include..............

......To Leave A Legacy

On Father's Day Seth and Heather gave me the gift of a book called A Father's Legacy. They suggested I write my recollections and memories of my childhood and life adventure to be preserved for them and their siblings understanding/keeping.
(The book is filled with writing prompts and 192 pages long!)

I have decided to use my/our blog as the medium by which to record these writings and throw in a few pictures along the way. These will be sprinkled throughout the other posts I normally do.

These are the words in the introduction of the book:

"As the years slip past we become more aware of what's really important in life. Lying within our memories are the personal histories of those treasures. By sharng them, we pass along a loving legacy to children, grandchildren, and generations yet to come." (And other blog readers! : ))

In recent years I have been called on to go into schools and businesses to give a speach I title. "What Stuff REALLY Matters Anyway?"

Here.....on this blog....I hope to convey....THE STUFF.......the stuff that matters most to me and how and why it has come be so important.

SSSOOOOO....let this adventure continue......from here.....TO HEAVEN......my final destination and the begining of a whole NEW advenure!

.....they're everywhere...they're eveywhere....

"Ask and ye shall receive...." I asked Jay a while back if he could bring us some tadpoles from this spring's hatch to replace the BIG frog that I saw hop away in the night. He came through with....over 40 tadpoles...which are now....well....becoming frogs by the day! (How many do you count in this picture??)

Watering Fascination

It's been very dry here in Central Ohio. last night for the first time this summer I turned the sprinkler on to water this area of the Botanical Gardens. I became mesmorized by the patterns of the water from the unique sprinkler Pat found. Stare at these pictures for ten seconds then........ look at a wall and tell me what you see.....

Train Talk

Yesterday Pat and I took Dad Williams on a journey back in time. After visiting the Dresden Junction Train Museum and meeting it's owner, Chris Kirker, I knew we had to take Daddy. Sure enough....from the time we arrived..........

......through the entire 2 hour visit......

............to the time we left........the two of them talked.....talked.....talked.....Ohio, B&O and model railroading. The stories and information exchange flowed nonstop! It again pointed up the vast knowledge Dad has and the good mind he still has. He is an amazing man! We finished the trip off with lunch at the Longaberger Homestead. I have a distinct feeling these two haven't seen the last of each other!
