Black Bear Up A Tree

We've seen bear on every visit down here. This time was no exception.

Cades Cove

Cades Cove in the early morning at sunrise provides some beautiful scenes. Here are a few we caught and want to share.

Wayside

We are members of a network of Christians who offer their home for overnight stays for travelers. This trip we have had the opportunity to spend the night with two couples who provided not only magnificent sleeping accommodations and breakfast but wonderful hospitality as well.
Our night in Boone North Carolina was in the home of Bud and Peg. The moment we saw the log cabin nestled among the rhododendron on the mountainside we knew we’d struck paydirt!

Not only did they provide private accommodations in a huge upstairs bedroom but in the morning at our request they serenaded us with harp and mandolin! They were lovely people who minister through song in area nursing homes and are involved in serving needy children around the world through an outreach called Shepard’s Purse.

Beauty All Around Us

It's good to just take a couple of weeks to take in the creation!
SO REFRESHING!

So Sam!

As we ate a picnic supper by a lake this young fellow was swinging on a swing and was practicing flying out of it at it's highest peak and turning a back flip before landing on the ground on his feet! He then proceeded to his unicycle where he rode around the parking lot balancing and doing some tricks.....DID THIS EVER BRING ABOUT FOND MEMORIES...of our extreme sport son Sam! Turns out he travels around the US and internationally with his Mom and rides the worlds highest, fastest roller coasters!(Yes he loved Cedar Point but his favorite coaster was in Japan.) Interesting life experiences for a 14 year old. DJ....this entry's for you!

Views Along The Blue Ridge Parkway

We love to cruise down the backbone ridges of the parkway. The grass grows right to the edge of the road and we stop at nearly every overview....and life slows down for a change.

Mabry Mill

Mr Mabury ran a mill that ground wheat to flower, sawed lumber and performed other milling operations. He built several long wooden water slueces to carry water from seperate streams to drive the water wheel.

Day 2 Morning Activities

Breakfast and a walk to the play area at Burger King made the morning special. We'll be seeing them all again at Thanksgiving.
Meeting like this makes Pat and me realize how much our kids and grandchildren mean to us.

On day 1 we met up with Meg, Hailey and Alyssa in Danville, Virginia. We had a wonderful time with the girls as these pictures disclose. Not sure when we will be able to post next. We will be staying with people in our Wayside network. Will post as we can.

At The Motel Pool

We had a ball with the girls swimming in the pool and enjoying the jacuzzi.

Morning Glory

When Chelsey works the morning shift at Target we get to keep Zoe and Addy all night. They are so fun to be around. Each day holds fresh excitement and anticipation. They remind us not to lose the wonder about life.

Soon It Will Be A Real Wedding Dress

It seems like yesterday that Chelsey was sitting at our supper table at the age of 5 informing me in her 5 year old innocence that if her Mom married Wes I would be her grandpa! At the time that was very unsettling because I still pictured myself like Peter Pan...ever young....not "Grandpa" material! Since then both she and I have grown up. She is about to take a life changing step. Her toilet paper dress is about to give way to that of a beautiful bride. Continue your life adventure my dear.....and don't forget God and Grandpa!

Heather's Visit

This blog is to chronicle the activities of Life on Pleasant Chapel. The garden provides some beautiful scenes but it's the people who visit that mean the most. Last night Heather stopped by and "hung out" for a couple of hours. She is another "family sweetie" who enhances the "Weaver Experience."

Bright Skies, Gorgeous Fall Weather, And My Camera In Bill's Botanical

What a beautiful day in the garden. I had to get these shots because the light on the plants and pond called out to my senses!

"Bright Lights" Swiss Chard which I planted from seed.

A window of light.

Stipped Zebra Grass looked even more beautiful against the bright blue sky.

Fall View of Pat's Secret Garden

Our pond guardian angel watches over the frogs, fish and turtles.

Our Granddaughter's Getting Married!

Chelsey's family and friends gather for a bridal shower at the Naz.

Fun At The Shower

Cheryl had us toss TP in a "ring of love" where each person said something they like about Chelsey. Pat's was, "Chelsey was the first to make me a grandmother."

Chelsey and Katy, Chels's Maid of Honor to be.
