Summer Monday Night Is Softball
This week we played the top team in the league who beat us in the first round 12 to 8. Beat them and we are thrust into the league lead. A seriousness pervades the pregame gathering as players put on their "game face".......
To throw the other team off....Kevin presents a casual stance..... the effect of which is to lull the opposing team into somewhat of a trance.....
....only then to deliver a ball deep to the wall and come flying into third with a triple!
With It All On The Line.....
...the fans anxiously await at this crucial point in the game....
....the ball is deposited deep into left field......
.....foul territory.... but hey!
....a discussion ensues about how far that ball actually traveled...
.....but at the end of the game......"Gang Green" (as they are becoming known around the league).....humbly prevailed.

Small Group Gathering At The Pond
Kevin Bergenthun invited me to join him in a prayer vigil at water's edge. After reflecting on the story of Peter and the fishes we decided to exercise our faith and fish. Sure enough....at about dusk.....the fish began to bite.......
Kevin.....ever the stalker of the wiley game fish....had a strike.....
Much as Peter must have done....he pulled the fish from the water......
.....and humbly displayed it for view. A fitting end to another wonderful Lord's day!

Monitoring the Bald Eagle's Nest From Afar
We (particularly I) have become intrigued with watching the bald eagle's nest near Claylick bridge. I would be blogging the progress of the one eaglet on the blog but it is a great distance away and needs to be seen through a high power spotting scope loaned to me by my friend, Anne Dunlap. I thought I'd at least give you a perspective of the nest. In the picture above you can barely see the nest above the white tree trunk in the middle of the picture.
Here is the computer blow up of the picture above and the eaglet is the dark spot on the left side of the "V" formed by the branches. When I get a decent shot of the adult I will post it. Pat and I are planning to take a couple of chairs, a cooler of drinks and healthy snacks (Heather!) and just hang out there to watch the feeding and activity at the nest sometime soon. We would love to se this little geezer's first flight which could happen anytime.

Surprise Visit
Ruth's son Jonathon came by to check out the garden and we got to catch up on their lives. They live in Pittsburg where Tiffany is going to culinary arts school and Jonathon is working at Cracker Barrel. They are expecting their third child.
Michael is 3 and smart as a whip! He is SO inquisitive!
Isabella (Bella for short) is a real cutie pie.
