What Better Way To Spend President's Day Than At The Ronald Reagan Library....

We decided to take the day and explore the life of president Reagan and the beauty of the setting of his library legacy near the ranch he made his home........

One of the points of interest was that this location was chosen for the retirement of Air Force One...........

............here Stan (right side of photo) photographs the plane..........

..........before striking a contemplative profile pose..........

As We Came Around The Corner We Saw President Reagan Coming Towards Us....

......on the wall was an actual entry in his diary right after being shot by John Hinkley.......... "But I realized I couldn't ask for God's help while at the same time I felt hatred for the mixed up young man who had shot me. Isn't that the meaning of the lost sheep? We are all God's children & therefore equally beloved by him. I began to pray for his soul and that he would find his way back to the fold."

.........and this scene at Normandy where he personally thanked this soldier who had been one of those invaders who stormed the beaches to free Europe of the grip of Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany.......

Thoughts at the End of the Day

.........Never know who you're going to see at the Reagan Library on Presidents Day! I caught this quick glimpse of a former great president glancing over at.....The Declaration of Independence!

.........and who can forget those powerful words, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear this wall down!" ......and he did!

His life philosophy is summed up above his grave................

THERE'S BEEN A GREAT ONE AMONG US!

Early Morning Destination

Stan had an early morning destination he wanted to take us to. We got up early and headed in a morning mist East toward the mountains. As we climbed and climbed we rose above the mist......and the clouds........ to the top of Mt. Washington.....

...........besides being the epicenter of Los Angeles communications..............

......it provided some outstanding scenic views enhanced by the cloud layers below.......

.........yes.....this picture is exactly how it looked to the naked eye.......
